Senior QA Engineer

Location: Remote | Full-Time

Sequencing.com is seeking a Senior QA Engineer with strong manual testing skills and a deep understanding of test automation. While the role primarily involves manual QA, we are looking for someone who has experience designing, developing, and maintaining automation test suites. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in an e-commerce environment and be familiar with modern test automation stacks?with Playwright experience being a major plus. Mobile review and performance testing are crucial for this role.

Key Responsibilities
? Ensure user requirements are satisfied, releases to production are defect-free, and systems/changes perform as expected without adversely impacting operations.
? Improve QA processes and guidelines, developing and enforcing QA policies and procedures.
? Work with engineering and product teams to identify scenarios and edge cases consumers may experience.
? Analyze business requirements to develop a clear testing strategy and demonstrate deep domain expertise.
? Identify, document, and track software defects, collaborating with developers to resolve issues efficiently.
? Determine production readiness of the application and develop response strategies for high-criticality and security vulnerability-related issues.
? Proactively investigate and find issues/bugs within both the existing and newly developed codebase.
? Test applications using latest test automation best practices and develop well-functioning regression test suites.
? Test APIs and integrations, documenting how the regression suite functions.
? Conduct performance testing, with a strong emphasis on mobile performance.
? Support CI/CD pipeline integration to enhance deployment quality and efficiency.
? Utilize Bitbucket for version control and deployment processes.
? Perform routine testing on mobile devices to ensure a seamless user experience across different platforms and form factors.

Qualifications
? 5+ years of QA experience, with a strong background in manual testing and a proven ability to transition to automation.
? Experience testing web-based applications in a team larger than 8 FTEs.
? Experience in e-commerce testing is required, with a deep understanding of checkout flows, payment processing, and order management systems.
? Expertise in building automation test suites from scratch and maintaining them over time.
? Proficiency in Playwright is a huge plus; experience with Selenium, Cypress, or other automation tools is beneficial.
? Strong knowledge of test methodologies, tools, and best practices.
? Hands-on experience with API testing tools like Postman, Swagger, or similar.
? Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Bitbucket), and Agile development methodologies.
? Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
? Experience with bug tracking and Agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
? Process-focused, self-motivated, proactive, and committed to excellence.
? Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications
? Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6, or Gatling).
? Background in security testing for e-commerce applications.
? Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript) for test automation.
