Position

We are looking for a self-motivated Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our growing company. This individual will help design and develop battery monitoring and management systems, industrial battery chargers and inverters, engine starting systems, and DC back-up power systems across a wide power range (150W to 100kW). This person will be involved from concept investigation and design, through successful production launch and support of these products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
? Design and test new products and contribute to sustaining efforts on existing products.
? Design firmware for system controllers, sensors, and accessories for power systems and battery monitors with embedded microcontrollers.
? Implement digital control loops in Microcontroller DSPs for a variety of complex power conversion topologies and battery balancing using ?C? code.
? Develop, enhance, and maintain product firmware for a wide range of targets including small, embedded microcontrollers and processors.
? Perform required testing for design verification, regulatory compliance, and system integration to ensure performance and reliability under all operating conditions.
? Specify and design production tests and equipment to support the introduction of new products into production.
? Participate in the full life cycle of product development including requirement definition, design, implementation, test, and maintenance.
? Conduct peer to peer and cross-functional design reviews.
? Transition designs into mass production.

Qualifications
? Bachelor?s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar related field with 5 or more years of relevant engineering experience.
? Strong engineering fundamentals in development and testing with microcontroller-based embedded systems.
? Mastery of computer programming and scripting languages (C, C++, BASH).
? Knowledge of board level communications (UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, etc.).
? Knowledge of common analog sensing and conditioning circuits. (Opamps, ADCs, filters)
? Must have experience using lab test equipment such as high-speed digital scopes, power supplies, electronic loads, voltmeters, and logic analyzers.
? Experience with embedded Linux platforms.
? Experience taking a design from concept into volume production.
? Experience with power electronics and analog sensors is a plus.
? Experience with the following protocols is a plus: SNMP, MODBUS, DNP3, IEC61850.
? Knowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts is a plus.
? Flexible and independent team player who actively establishes and maintains effective working relationships and who is willing to help wherever needed.
? Self-starter with a mindset of solving problems.
? Good written and verbal communication skills.

Colorado Equal Pay Act

The estimated base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $120,000. This posted salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate, and Stored Energy Systems reserves the right to adjust this range depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Location: Longmont, CO. This role will be mostly on-site with some hybrid flexibility after the employee is trained.
