Claims Representative
Indian River Transport is seeking an experienced Claims Representative to join our team. This individual will be responsible for managing, investigating, and processing insurance claims related to various coverage types, including property and casualty, physical damage, auto liability, general liability, and workers? compensation. The Claims Representative will work directly with the insurance carriers, involved parties, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate claims resolution while maintaining high levels of customer service and adherence to policy terms.
Responsibilities: ? Receive, document, and process insurance claims for property, physical damage, auto liability, general liability, and workers? compensation. ? Investigate claims promptly by gathering documentation, statements, and evidence to assess claim validity and extent of damage or injury. ? Serve as the primary contact for Indian River Transport, insurance providers, adjusters, and third-party claimants. ? Track and monitor claims from initiation to resolution, ensuring timely settlements. ? Review and interpret insurance policies to confirm appropriate coverage for each claim. ? Communicate with management regarding risks, exposures, and recommendations based on claim outcomes. ? Analyze claim trends to identify areas for risk management improvements. ? Collaborate with internal teams (fleet management, safety, HR), service providers, and legal counsel as needed. ? Maintain accurate, organized records of claims, documentation, and communication. ? Provide regular status reports to management and ensure compliance with internal processes. ? Act as the point of contact for all parties involved in the claims process, providing timely updates and addressing concerns. ? Stay informed about changes in insurance regulations, industry best practices, and trucking-related risks.
Qualifications: ? Bachelor?s degree in business, insurance, risk management, or a related field preferred. ? Minimum 3-5 years of experience in claims management, particularly in property, physical damage, auto liability, general liability, and workers? compensation. ? Experience in the transportation or trucking industry is highly preferred. ? Strong understanding of insurance claims processes and coverage types. ? Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. ? Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and claims management software. ? Certifications such as Claims Adjuster license or Associate in Claims (AIC) preferred.
