Claims Adjuster - Auto Damage

About the position

As an auto damage claims adjuster at Progressive, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, guiding them through the repair process from start to finish. This role requires you to manage your own inventory while working independently, collaborating closely with body shops and other stakeholders to negotiate repair pricing and assess liability. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and conflict management skills, a keen attention to detail, and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This position is field-based, providing you with a company car and necessitating frequent driving within your designated geographical area, which spans from Chico to Yuba City, CA. While the primary focus will be on your assigned area, there may be occasions where you will need to cover assignments outside of this region. Additionally, you may be required to report to an office from time to time. Your responsibilities will include conducting vehicle inspections, writing estimates, determining total loss evaluations, and setting clear expectations and timelines for repairs. You will negotiate the repair process with body shops, document all relevant information related to claims, and make decisions that align with claims standards and local laws. Furthermore, you will evaluate and manage claim payments, resolve claims without payments, and review the validity of any supplement requests.

Responsibilities

Requirements
? Bachelor's degree or higher and at least one year of automotive, appraisal/estimatics, or insurance experience.

? Alternatively, a combined total of five years post-secondary education or work experience, with at least one year in automotive, appraisal/estimatics, or insurance.

? Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and compliance with Progressive's driving standards and/or policies.
