Lawyer / Consulting (Volunteer Starting for non profit)
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Lawyer to join our legal team, starting out as a volunteer helping, our team review contracts and ensuring legal basis is applied to strategy and decision making. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various areas of law, including personal injury, patent law, family law, environmental law, and tribal law regulations. This role requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues. As a Lawyer, you will represent clients in legal proceedings, provide legal advice, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
?Represent clients in court proceedings and legal negotiations.
?Prepare legal documents such as briefs, motions, and contracts.
?Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
?Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations in various matters.
?Develop case strategies based on comprehensive analysis of laws and regulations.
?Maintain accurate records of all client interactions and case progress.
?Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff within the law office to ensure effective case management.
?Stay updated on changes in laws relevant to personal injury, patent issues, family matters, environmental concerns, and tribal regulations.
Requirements
?Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
?Equvilant experience or more than 2 years in field or pursuing degree.
?Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
?Experience or knowledge in personal injury law, patent law, family law, environmental law, or tribal law regulations is preferred.
?Proficient in legal research tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
?Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legal documents.
?Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
?Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
?Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
