About the position

As a Customer Development Manager (CDM) for Costco at Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits, you will play a pivotal role in fostering strong partnerships with our retail customers, suppliers, and internal account teams. Your primary objective will be to drive alignment and simplification across all three tiers of the distribution process. This position requires a deep understanding of insights and analytics to support our retail customers and identify growth opportunities. You will be responsible for creating and delivering actionable insights and recommendations based on a variety of data sources, ensuring that our vendor programs are executed effectively in the field. In this role, you will stay abreast of analytic best practices within the industry, providing valuable information that aligns with our sales, margin, and market development goals. You will analyze and report on category performance metrics, including sales, profits, margins, and market share, to identify trends and drive improvements. Regular business reviews will be a key component of your responsibilities, where you will develop, communicate, and monitor performance metrics relevant to each business, ensuring that suppliers are engaged in continuous improvement initiatives. Your analytical skills will be put to the test as you create and deliver reports using Point of Sale (POS) data, syndicated data from sources like Nielsen and IRI, and account-specific databases. You will also evaluate supplier performance and make recommendations to enhance our inventory logistics objectives. Understanding customer, consumer, and industry insights through market research will be essential in delivering category growth. Ultimately, your role will ensure superior client satisfaction through hands-on analytics and collaborative problem-solving in a fast-paced environment where managing multiple priorities is crucial.

Requirements
?? Bachelor's Degree and experience within the CPG sector; Adult Beverage preferred.
,
?? Understanding of National Chain Sales, Retail, and Distributor operations.
,
?? Expertise in category management principles and shopper/consumer insights.
,
?? High level understanding of Category Management processes and practices.
,
?? Assertive leadership and decision-making skills with high energy.
,
?? Preferred experience with Syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI) and Internal Shipment Data.
,
?? Strong foundation in business fundamentals and business finance.
,
?? Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and quantitative analysis skills.
,
?? Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
