Full Time Special Education Team Lead - Remote | WFH

Job Type: Full-Time (10 months)

Location: Indiana (Remote)

Working Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week

Virtual Teaching: You'll provide direct instruction to a caseload of up to 15 students each week between 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM Eastern Time (ET).

In-Person State Testing: Assist with administering standardized tests (IREAD, ILEARN, IAM) as needed.

Additional Duties: Flexible throughout the week

Primary Responsibilities

Student-Focused Duties (Approx. 2/3 Time):

Assess students' skills and learning needs through standardized testing.

Clearly communicate evaluation results to parents and regular education teachers.

Develop and design Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in compliance with Federal Special Education Law.

Collaborate with parents and school staff to monitor and support students' progress.

Respond to families' inquiries within 24 hours (emails, texts, or calls).

Build positive relationships with students and their families.

Conduct virtual meetings with students to help them achieve their IEP goals.

Offer families tips and strategies to enhance their children's learning.

Get acquainted with Homeroom Resources.

Adapt teaching materials to meet individual student needs.

Track and analyze students' progress using measurable data.

Maintain regular communication with school administration.

Organize and invite participants to special education meetings within required timelines.

Attend in-service training as necessary.

Hold weekly office hours for students and parents.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Live Virtual Instruction

Teach virtual classes from Monday to Thursday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (ET).

Use online platforms and tools to deliver engaging and effective lessons.

Assess and evaluate student performance through virtual assessments, discussions, and projects.

In-Person State Testing

Support state testing teams with proctoring and ensure adherence to testing protocols.

Coordinate with administration for testing schedules, materials, and results reporting.

Lead Teacher Duties (Approx. 1/3 Time)

Flexible schedule, approximately one-third of your working hours.

Attend faculty and leadership meetings as needed.

Provide support to fellow teachers by setting up instructional resources and documentation.

Maintain accommodation folders for standardized testing.

Answer questions from Special Education teachers and communicate with families as needed.

Oversee Schoology training for Special Education teachers.

Meet monthly with your supervisor for check-ins.

Act as a communication liaison between administration and assigned teachers.

Refer teachers needing additional support to the Assistant Special Education Director.

Attend IEP conferences and support the enrollment process at the beginning of each semester.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

Certification: Valid Indiana special education teacher license.

Experience: At least 2 years of teaching experience, ideally in both virtual and in-person settings.

Skills

Proficiency with digital learning platforms and instructional technologies.

Strong classroom management skills in both virtual and physical environments.

Effective collaboration with other educators and staff members.

Excellent organizational skills for handling multiple responsibilities and administrative tasks.

Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience ($44,720).
