Farm Coordinator 4 Department: FAES | Animal Sciences Wooster Dairy Center Job Description Under the direction of the Dairy Operations Manager, acts as the liaison between ATI Faculty and Wooster Dairy operations; oversees training of practicum students and student assistants; interacts with faculty, staff, students and visitors on a daily basis; supports teaching instruction; Responsible for scheduling, overseeing, evaluating practicum students; Coordinates lab needs with ATI faculty; serves as a teaching assistant for labs; Responsible for overseeing summer internships; aids in recruitment and interacts with potential students through campus visits, FFA and 4-H events; assists with daily farm activities, coordinate/assist with Extension programming activities that utilize the Wooster dairy facilities, helps maintain facilities and provides support in all aspects of the operation; works in conjunction with the lactating and non-lactating herd coordinators to support the teaching, research and Extension needs of the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Minimum Education Required: Associate's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in dairy science. 4 years of relevant experience required. Required Qualifications: Knowledge and understanding of the dairy industry; supervisory experience Job Duties: 50%: Liaison between ATI faculty and the Wooster Dairy operations; interacts with faculty, staff, students, and visitors daily; support teaching instruction; schedules, oversees and evaluates practicum students; coordinates and assists faculty with labs; oversees summer internships; aids in recruitment and interacts 50%: Maintains facilities and provides support in all aspects of the operation including milking, feeding, bedding, manure handling, animal handling and assisting with data collection Additional Information: This position is job profile Farm Coordinator 4 (T4 level) on the career roadmap. The salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc. Location: Krauss Dairy Research Facility (0426) Position Type: Regular Scheduled Hours: 40 Shift: Rotating Shift Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
