Job Title: Director, Product Development – HOKA Apparel Reports to: Vice President, PLG Product Development Location: Portland, OR The Role The Director of Product Development, PLG Apparel is the Supply Chain lead representative of the “Product Triad” (Product Management, Product Design, Product Development). This role will oversee and drive the product creation process from concept & design, pattern work, fit & wear tests, salesmen samples, RTB (Ready to Buy) and into production. Your Impact The primary functions of this role include, but are not limited to: Develop, lead, and drive the seasonal CP (Critical Path) from brief stage through final prototyping, fit & wear, salesman samples, and RTB. Work with supply chain leadership to source, vet, and develop T1/T2 vendor relationships supporting brand strategies. Leverage macro industry trends and technology to drive improvements and best practices throughout all facets of product creation. Directly manage internal & external resources including developers, tech design, contractors, etc. Create best in class procedures, product toolboxes, and standards Build out product category toolboxes that record and hold the specific and specialized product knowledge for design standards, product quality, internal/external construction methods, and material and trim appropriateness for each specific sport/category. Fine tune and influence updated testing protocol for materials and garments based on product category end-use. Identify and champion people, resources, or technologies that will help drive business efficiency. Who You Are An experienced end-to-end apparel/accessories development expert with management experience. Driven for excellence, a self-starter, and a leader. Have had start up or early business stage apparel experience. Can manage and work in a complex global organization satisfying the needs of diverse constituents with competing deadlines and priorities. Effective team building, project management, and organizational skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities. We’d love to hear from people with Related Degree or relevant work experience 15+ years’ experience in the performance apparel industry preferably in development, commercialization, or production. 8+ years’ experience managing a team.
